An easy, step by step guide to setting up your own hosted Wordpress blog or website from scratch
This course gives you an easy, step-by-step guide to setting up your own fully customizable wordpress website. Say goodbye to limited templates and functionality and create the website you've always dreamt of.
Whether you're setting up a blog, a store, a business site or something altogether different, it's easy with Wordpress!
This is the first course in our series and covers how to get you from absolutely nothing to a fully functioning Wordpress site with a theme of your choice, in easy, bitesize lessons.
By the end of the course, and in just a few short hours, you'll have mastered the following:
- Choosing and buying your Web Domain
- Choosing and buying Web Hosting
- Connecting your domain and Host
- Installing wordpress
- Choosing and installing your theme
Please note: setting up your own website incurs several costs including, but not limited to, the following:
- Purchasing a domain
- Purchasing a hosting plan
- Purchasing a theme (not necessary but the best coded themes aren't free)
IMPORTANT - TO BUILD YOUR OWN SITE, YOU WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE A HOSTING PLAN AND A DOMAIN AT THE VERY LEAST!
The course also assumes you'll be using Siteground as a host, using their system as examples. It will be much easier if you choose to use Siteground, but you can still complete it without.
Last but not least!
Finally, this is not a course in actually designing your site, and doesn't cover page design or installing templates. This will be included in future courses.
The course is about getting you to the starting line, so you can explore wordpress and create your own site!
